Interlaken is situated 'between the lakes' and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. This is a lively resort, with visitors enjoying the lake cruises and taking rail journeys into the mountains, including the famous Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe.
Interlaken offers a different experience from the villages we feature; it has a buzz about it with plenty of shops offering everything from luxury watches, jewellery and designer clothes to the iconic cow bells. The Höhematte Park is a great place to relax and cast your gaze up to the beautiful mountains. In the evenings you will find a wide variety of restaurants and bars to enjoy. Hotel guests benefit from the FREE Interlaken Visitor's Card, allowing you to hop on and off the local buses and trains.
Interlaken really has a charm all of its own, with its sparkling lakes and glorious views up to the snow-capped trio of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Many visitors return year after year, as there is always more to enjoy.
NB For those who would prefer a stay in a quieter village with access to all the amenities and transport network of Interlaken, we recommend nearby Bönigen and Wilderswil.Â
