What is personal information
Personal information is information about an identifiable individual.
This falls into two categories:
A) Past and current customers where we have made holiday arrangements on your behalf. We hold details of your previous bookings and all details needed to perform the reservations on your behalf. This includes your full name, address, telephone number, email address, IP address and any other information that identifies who you are or would allow someone to contact you. In addition, with certain airlines we may hold your passport details needed to issue boarding cards on your behalf.
Details of your credit or debit cards are not held after each payment has been secured.
B) Potential customers who have asked for a brochure, requested a quotation or requested a newsletter. This information includes your name, address, telephone number email address and IP address.
Why do we need your personal information
We may use your information to process your holiday booking, assist with future bookings, to send you our marketing leaflets and new brochures or to send you newsletters via email.
How long do we keep your personal information
We will keep your personal data for postal and/or email newsletter marketing and your holiday booking information until you request that we no longer do so. We delete holiday booking files 7 years after your final correspondence.
Collection of personal information
You can provide your personal information to us directly by phone or email. You may also complete our online forms for Holiday Quotation, Brochure Request and Newsletter Request. You can choose not to provide certain elements, or to opt out of marketing. We also have access to digital information such as your IP address, browser and operating system, which is held (without showing your name or email address) within Google Analytics. These elements are also available along with your email address in MailChimp, our partner email newsletter platform.
Cookies
To provide information that is relevant to you, we use cookies which remember the pages you visit. Cookies are held by your computer and help us tailor web applications to your needs and preferences, as well as retaining any information you have entered. Cookies are also used for analytical purposes - anonymously - to improve our website via Google Analytics. They do not give access to your computer or any personal information about you, rather allow us to see how many people in total have visited a certain page for example. Some web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can modify your browser setting to decline them if you prefer. You can opt out by visiting https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of website function.
Other websites
We may use repeat advertising on other websites and social media to re-display holiday ideas based on what you've previously viewed on our website. This technology is based on cookies from our site, while the other websites deliver the advertising. The information used is completely anonymous and does not contain any of your personal details. You may choose to opt out of this type of advertising by visiting https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated. Our websites may also contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we have no control over these other websites and we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting them. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the websites you visit.
Use of personal information
We use the information you provide to us to perform the services for which such data was collected: sending email newsletters; sending brochures and postal marketing; making your holiday booking. We also share email addresses with Feefo, an independent reviews service who conduct post-holiday surveys on our behalf. If you respond to a survey, you will remain anonymous on the platform unless you choose to make your details public. We do not and will not rent or sell your personal information to unrelated third parties. We do however need to disclose your personal information to certain parties to process your holiday booking - such as transport operators and hotels - or as required by law. We also employ or partner with other companies to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include processing credit card payments, posting brochures and securely sending email newsletters. These agents have access to the personal information needed to perform their functions and it is illegal for them to use any of your data for any other purposes.
Security
We use industry-standard methods to protect your personal information from unauthorised access. Among other techniques, we usually store such information on a server behind our firewall in a secure location, and we often restrict the number of employees internally who can access such data. Please note that services operated by a third party are subject to their own security arrangements. There is no such thing as 'perfect security' on the internet and you will need to employ the usual security software and precautions on your own computer/smartphone.
