Day 1 - Arrive and get to know Grindelwald

Your adventure starts with a flight departing around 08.40 to Zurich and rail connections to reach the mountain village of Grindelwald. Check into the family-friendly 3 star superior Parkhotel Schoenegg at the top of the village. There’s an indoor pool at the hotel so you might like to head straight for a splash or have a drink in the bar and a game of pool, or maybe stretch your legs in the village. There’s plenty of shops, cafés and a fiendish mini golf course! Half board evening meals are included with this holiday.

Day 2-7 - Family days out in the mountains

The holiday includes a Jungfrau Travel Pass, giving you unlimited scope for exploring. The First mountain cable car is close at hand and kids will love the thrill of a ride high in the sky. On this sunny mountain there are amazing views, grazing cattle and activities including mountain carts, electric ‘Trottibikes’ and for teenagers an 84kph zip wire (activities are payable locally).

Another day might see you winding up the mountain on a nostalgic train to Schynige Platte where you can take a walk through the alpine garden and watch the traditional Alphorn players while you enjoy a drink on the sun terrace. You could head over to Pfingstegg from Grindelwald - there is a discount for the cable car and on arrival you'll find a summer toboggan run which although it has a small fee is really great fun.

You'll find mountain restaurants all over - there are particularly good playgrounds at Winteregg and Männlichen, perfect for the kids while you relax with a drink. Or you may prefer to take a picnic and try to spot cute little marmots popping out of their burrows. Children will just adore the freedom of running in alpine meadows and splashing in streams. You also have the option to travel down to Interlaken for an unforgettable lake cruise and a waterfront ice cream.

Day 8 - Last day

Time to wave goodbye to Grindelwald and make your way back to the airport. You don't have to be at the airport until 3pm, so if you leave Grindewald early you could make a stop in Bern to see the bears that live by the river, or visit the excellent FIFA Museum in Zurich.
