Day 4 - Glacier Express to St. Moritz travelling in the exclusive ‘Excellence Class’ carriage
On the fourth day
you will be welcomed aboard at the exclusive check-in to join the
leisurely Glacier Express train on its journey to St. Moritz in the scenic
Upper Engadin region. This wonderful journey takes around 8 hours in the
comfort of your special panoramic coach where you will be greeted by a welcome
drink. A fine, five course lunch is served at
your table with accompanying wines included. Scenic milestones of this classic route include the Oberalp
Pass, Rhine Gorge and the Landwasser Viaduct before arriving in St. Moritz and checking
into your 4 star hotel for your 4 night stay.Â

Typical menu in Excellence Class
Menus change throughout the seasons, so this is merely an example to give you a flavour of excellent lunch you can expect. Wine is served with each course and vegetarian options and dietary allergies can be catered for with at least two weeks' notice.
1. Swiss smoked trout with oven-baked beetroot, apple, lettuce and horseradish soft cheese with house dressing
2. Minted pea soup with dried blossoms
3. Fillet of Swiss beef with truffled mashed potatoes, carrots, spring onions and mountain herb jus
4. Swiss cheese platter with Grisons mountain cheese, Viamala semi-hard cheese, Langwies organic sheep’s cheese and Aletsch cheese. Served with tomato and apricot chutney, pear bread and crackers
5. Chocolate cake with vanilla sauce and roasted almonds
