The largest waterfall in Europe is easily reached by a 10 minute bus ride from Schaffhausen. You will be richly rewarded by this natural wonder, which is at its most powerful in June/July. You can stand on platforms which are virtually in the middle of the falls and jut out over the Rhine. The castles of Laufen and Worth can be reached by boat.

Schloss Laufen
The history of the castle, Schloss Laufen, is closely linked with the history of the Rhine Falls. Enter the castle exhibition and embark on a journey through time. You'll also go within touching distance of the natural wonder of the Rhine Falls whilst on the adventure trail.Â
The castle offers a self service café and the table service Restaurant Castello. Enjoy seasonal dishes with products from the region in a delightful historical setting.

There are a number of souvenir shops close to the Rhine Falls, selling a variety of gifts and watches.
Directions
The falls are very easily reached by train or bus from the town of Schaffhausen - head for the Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall stop. From here is it a short walk to the visitor centre.
