Your journey begins with an 08.40 flight to Zurich and an hour’s rail journey to Lucerne. From here you join a lake boat to take you along the water to Weggis. As you approach, you will be struck by the sight of the picturesque village, nestled at the foot of Mount Rigi. Board at Weggis for a free, magical journey on the water (time it carefully and you could be aboard a restored paddle steamer). Relax and take in the view of pretty villages and majestic mountains. You'll even glide past Rütli, birthplace of the Swiss nation. Another day you may like to cruise back to Lucerne to explore the cafés and chocolate shops, wander among the historic streets and maybe visit a museum.
