Day 1 - Arrive and get to know Grindelwald

Your adventure starts with a flight departing around 08.40 to Zurich and rail connections to reach the mountain village of Grindelwald. Check into the 3 star superior Parkhotel Schoenegg at the top of the village. There’s an indoor pool at the hotel so you might like to head straight for a splash or have a drink in the bar or maybe stretch your legs in the village. There’s plenty of shops and cafés to tempt you. Half board evening meals at the hotel are included with this holiday.

Day 2-7 - Days out in the mountains

The holiday includes a Jungfrau Travel Pass, giving you unlimited scope for exploring. The First mountain cable car is close at hand - enjoy the scenery as you glide upwards. On this sunny mountain there are amazing views, grazing cattle and activities including mountain carts, electric ‘Trottibikes’ and an 84kph zip wire (payable locally). You may prefer a pleasant walk to the outstanding scenery at Bachalpsee.

Another day might see you winding up the mountain on a nostalgic train to Schynige Platte where you can take a stroll through the alpine garden and watch the traditional Alphorn players while you enjoy a drink on the sun terrace. You'll actually find mountain restaurants throughout the region - a particularly lovely day out is to take the cable car to Männlichen for lunch then embark upon a walk in the glorious scenery. With your pass you also have the option to travel down to Interlaken for an unforgettable cruise on Lake Thun or Brienz - sit back and relax on board with a cool drink.

Day 8 - Last day

Time to wave goodbye to Grindelwald and make your way back to the Zurich. You don't have to be at the airport until 3pm, so if you leave Grindewald early you could make a stop in Bern for lunch in the historic Swiss capital.
