A delightful funicular railway runs from Vevey to the village of Mont-Pèlerin. During the 11 minute climb into the hills of Lake Geneva, passengers can admire the vineyards, forests and the pretty vineyard village of Chardonne.
Once they have arrived at Mont-Pèlerin, they can soak up the views from the terrace of the Hôtel Mirador or walk to the Plein Ciel panoramic lift. Open from April to early November, the Plein Ciel lift offers a stunning panoramic view, 90 minutes' walk from the funicular station.

Vevey–Chardonne–Mt. Pèlerin funicular railway
The railway departs from the shores of Lake Geneva and climbs through the Lavaux Vineyard Terraces (a World Heritage Site) to an altitude of more than 810 m in less than 15 minutes. On arrival you may like to sample the regional wine - the famous Chasselas.
Viewing platform
A 90 minute walk takes you to the foot of Mont-Pèlerin, where you can visit the famous 'Plein Ciel' telecoms tower and enjoy a 360° panoramic view out over the lake, the Chablais region and the Rhône valley. On a clear day you can even see Grand Combin mountain, the jewel of the Valais Alps and the second highest peak in French-speaking Switzerland. The viewing platform is open from Easter to October and costs 5 Sfr.

The funicular station is just a few minutes from Vevey's railway station.
You can easily reach Vevey from Montreux and Lausanne by boat, rail and bus.
