Your holiday starts in style, with Business Class flights. Among many benefits you will have priority check-in and access to the lounge for a quiet pre-flight drink. On arrival at Zurich airport, simply head downstairs to the airport's railway station and enjoy a 1st class journey through the countryside to Interlaken (around 2 hours 10 minutes). Transfer here to the 1st class carriage of the mountain train for the short trip to picturesque Grindelwald. A porter from the hotel will pick you up on arrival. 

Check in to the charming Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof, a five star hotel with a wonderful position close to the village but hidden away in private gardens. Your room has an Eiger view with a balcony or terrace, allowing you to relax and take in the stunning sight of the famous mountain. The hotel was originally a smithy and you will find fabulous touches of nostalgia around the traditional building. Perhaps on arrival you might like to relax with a drink on the terrace or in the gardens; other facilities for your mountain stay include an indoor pool and sauna.   

Your evening meal consists of four courses in the Alpterrassen dining room which too has views of the mountains. Should you wish, you can use your half board allowance towards a meal in the fine à la carte Schmitte restaurant, which has been recognised with 14 points in the renowned Gault & Millau dining guide.  

Before dinner, you may like to take a wander into the village and enjoy the charm of alpine life and the views of the Jungfrau mountains.

Famous the world over, the Jungfraujoch is a must do while you are in the area. We have included the upgrade ticket to take you to the summit known as the 'Top of Europe'. You'll travel from Grindelwald on the new Eiger Express cable car - a fantastic ride which passes by the north face of this iconic mountain. Change to the mountain train which brings you to the the highest railway station in Europe at 3,454m! Once at the Jungfraujoch summit, there are numerous activities to enjoy, including a visit to the Ice Palace, with its intricate ice carvings. You may like to try the Jungfrau Panorama 360° experience or even head out to the Snow Park for snowtubing fun. With restaurants and shopping in the clouds (Lindt Chocolate Heaven anyone?!) there's plenty to see and do. Perhaps the most wonderful experience of all is to step out on the viewing platform and take in the incredible vista. The Jungfrau-Aletsch Glacier is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and you will see why when you gaze out over the awesome sight. Brilliant white snow glitters over the vast sweep of the mountainscape and the air is as icy pure as you could ever imagine.  

Many people take a whole day to enjoy the Jungfraujoch. However a suggestion for the afternoon - if you have time and enjoy walking - is for a trail leading down from the Eigergletscher station on your way home. We recommend the hour walk on a wide downhill path from the station, past the Fallboden lake to Kleine Scheidegg. Enjoy a well deserved drink in the mountain restaurant before taking the train down to Grindelwald. 

The world of the Jungfrau is your oyster today! With your Pass you have a wide choice of activities. Why not make a full day of it, starting with a cruise on Lake Thun. Take the train down to Interlaken and join the boat for the 1 hour 20 minute cruise to Spiez, enjoying wonderful views as you go. Look out in particular for the pyramid-shaped Niesen mountain. There are regular departures throughout the day during the summer season and a quieter timetable in autumn. The fleet is made up of modern cruisers and a beautifully restored paddle steamer which has been carrying sightseers on the lake for over 100 years. At Spiez you can hop on a train back to Interlaken and Wilderswil, where you can join the heritage train to Schynige Platte. This sunny plateau boasts walks, an alpine garden and glorious views over the lakes and mountains scenery. You might like to linger here over a late lunch and enjoy the sound of the alpenhorn being played nearby. 

After arriving back at Wilderswil you might wish to head back to your cosy hotel in Grindelwald ... or continue your adventure with a trip to picturesque Wengen. Time for a coffee here, then travel in the cable car up to the Männlichen peak to admire the view and a second cable car down the other side to Grindelwald. A day to remember!

We recommend an evening flight to allow you to take one last trip with your Jungfrau Travel Pass - why not make the cable car journey to the Grindelwald First mountain for a morning coffee with a stunning view. As the flight home is once again in Business Class, you'll have access to the airport lounge before boarding and flying home with your memories of Switzerland.
