I just wanted to say thanks for putting such a great trip together for me, I had a really splendid time. All the train journeys were amazing, no wonder the Swiss are so proud of their railway system. Thank you so much for organising our holiday in Locarno. Everything went well with the flights and train transfers. The itinerary you provided was very clear and helpful. The fly luggage transfers worked perfectly for both journeys, our cases arriving in good time. We can highly recommend the Hotel Geranio, with its lakeside position, and being close to the town centre, the station and the boats. We used both the half fare card and the Ticino ticket to good effect. The Ticino (the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland) is just a lovely place to be. We have been to Luzern several years ago, and liked it very much.  Our stay in the hotel (Des Balances) was wonderful. The members of staff were helpful, courteous, friendly, and we received cheerful greetings from them all whenever and wherever they saw us in the hotel. The breakfast was beautifully set out, the service was second to none, the choice was incredible. Our room overlooked the river Reuss and the magnificent frontage of the Jesuit Church, with the top of Mount Pilatus in the background. If we looked left we could see the Kapellebrücke, the water tower and the lake, as well as Rigi mountain. The journey to Lugano via the Gotthard Panoramic Express was fascinating.  (We do admire Swiss engineering. They have an idea, work out how to solve the problems, and then get on with it.) The members of staff on the train ride were very friendly and informative, and the service was excellent. As the train passed through its famous tunnel, the lights were dimmed and projections of photographs and video clips of the miners, who worked on the project were projected onto the wall of the tunnel together with sound effects. It was very impressive. Our room in Hotel Bellevue au Lac in Lugano had a balcony with a splendid view of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains. The room, indeed the whole hotel, gave the impression that everything had been recently re-fiitted. The quality was very impressive. The breakfast, again, was a feast for the eyes as well as for the stomach, and the staff were cheerful and helpful. We had lovely weather, went up both the San Salvatore mountain and Monte Brè. Once again, thank you for your excellent service. I am writing to tell you how much we enjoyed our recent holiday booked with yourselves. Switzerland is a truly beautiful country, and as the weather was kind to us, we were able to see it and enjoy it at its best.
We were slightly worried about travelling around by ourselves and without the guidance of a resident tour rep, but our worries were unfounded, and we were able to enjoy using the railways, cable cars etc without any real problems. The hotel in Chur was delightful, and the management were so welcoming and helpful - we were almost sorry to leave! The hotel in Zermatt was also most acceptable, and I must commend the reception staff who went out of their way to help us choose suitable walks, and filled us in with lots of helpful background information. The food there, particularly breakfast was perhaps not quite as good, (less choices) but certainly acceptable. I am most grateful to the Swiss holiday company for arranging the holiday for us, and their friendly help and guidance through the booking procedures has to be highly recommended. I would particularly like to thank Lauren, Nathalie and Stephanie for their patience and understanding when one or two problems arose before departure (caused by our lack of computer know how) - they were always sympathetic and helpful. We have recently returned from a wonderful week in Kandersteg. We know the resort well, but this was the first time we booked a holiday through the Swiss Holiday Company and our first stay in the Bernerhof. We were delighted on all counts. The travel arrangements by train went smoothly, and you had provided us with excellent documentation (not to mention a smart red wallet!). At the hotel Mr and Mrs Lehmann were most welcoming, and all the staff were very attentive. We have stayed in Switzerland many times, often on half-board, and we would say that the food was good here. Kandersteg itself needs no recommendation from me - it is an incredible place. and we were very impressed when the manager made a point of  greeting and welcoming us on our arrival. We made good use of the passes you let us have, for getting about the area. We decided to book through Swiss Holiday Company, through a strong recommendation and partly due to the Covid difficulties. We were very impressed with the organisation of the holiday, with very quick informative responses to emails and availability to answer questions on the phone when necessary. Everything ran so smoothly and we had a brilliant holiday. The Parkhotel in Grindelwald and Seiler au Lac in Bönigen were excellent and we felt very safe with the arrangements, both having very good procedures to minimise contact and very helpful and friendly staff. Travel in Switzerland was of course so efficient and the trains had plenty of space and again we felt safe. The mixture of a mountain and lake hotel worked very well; in both cases the food was excellent. A taxi was organised from Interlaken to Bönigen saving us moving cases on the bus.
