The Adelboden ski area

Silleren-Hahnenmoos-Metsch-Lenk is the largest area and also the heart of the Adelboden ski region, offering a varied network of pistes with numerous simple to medium-difficulty pistes and wide carving pistes.

Chuenisbärgli is where you can discover Adelboden's famous Ski World Cup Mountain. The variety of pistes promises pure skiing pleasure and thanks to the comfortable chairlift, the Silleren-Hahnenmoos-Metsch-Lenk ski area is also easy to reach.

TschentenAlp Small, but a snow paradise at 2,000m and only 7 minutes from Adelboden town centre. Breathtakingly beautiful scenery, well prepared pistes for skiing and sledging. Why not try out a 'skibock' - a cross between ski and sledge.

Engstligenalp Basking in the winter sun on a panoramic terrace is just as typical of Engstligenalp as tracks carved in fresh snow by freeriders and cross country skiers. This mountain even boasts the largest 'fondue igloo' in the world!

Elsigen-Metsch These wide, well-prepared slopes are firm favourites. The Swiss Ski & Snowboard School arranges downhill runs by torchlight, guest ski races and ski tours.

Betelberg Lenk's own mountain offers over 40km of pistes with easy and intermediate skiing and an array of activities for all. Winter walking in a wide, serene landscape is a very special experience. Wallegg, a top insider tip for carvers, is always one of the first areas to open in the Bernese Oberland.

Adelboden resort facilities

Winter walking Adelboden offers the 'Adelboden Walkers Pass' which gives walkers use of the cable cars and local buses to reach magnificent viewpoints, cosy mountain restaurants and starting points of many of the 113km of adventurous trails.

Toboggan There are over 23km of prepared toboggan runs in the Adelboden-Frutigen area and 4km for night sledging by floodlight during high season. In Lenk there is a 3km toboggan run on the Betelberg from the Leiterli-Stoss halfway station.

Cross country skiing There are 21km of regional country tracks and 13km of high elevation tracks around Adelboden. You can also cross country ski in the whole Lenk valley and at Haslerberg.

Off-Piste Enjoy an adventure on deserted powder slopes, guided by the Alpine School Adelboden. There are tours for novice skiers and snowboarders right up to the challenging Wildstrubel Freeride Tour.

Snowtubing This fun activity takes place on Engstligenalp, with an exhilarating tyre ride to the bottom.

Families Children are catered for in the ski school from 3 years of age. The resort also has a handy book and games library.

Après ski in Adelboden

The night life in Adelboden is quieter than some other resorts, however, there is enough to offer a wind down after a pleasant day's skiing at the Berna Bar, the World Cup Bar, the Alte Taverne or the Time Out pub located directly on the Dorfstrasse. The Rustico Music Pub in Frutigen is great for dancing and live music at the weekend.
