Holidays in Saas-Fee - Valais

Traffic-free picturesque village in one of the most beautiful high valleys in Switzerland

Lying in one of the most beautiful high valleys in Switzerland, the traffic-free, picturesque village of Saas-Fee has retained its traditional character with an abundance of charm. Your holiday needs are well catered for with a variety of shops, attractive bars, restaurants and narrow cobbled streets surrounded by spectacular scenery including the Dom - Switzerland’s highest mountain. The Metro Alpin, the world’s highest underground train, takes you up to the world’s highest revolving restaurant at 3,500m. There are a number of other cable cars and gondola rides to enjoy and when you step off, you will be rewarded with some of the finest views and the clearest air you can breathe. Welcome to the Pearl of the Alps!

The wider Saas Valley offers hikers over 350km of trails and with free use of most of the cable cars during the summer you can plan walks from many different mountain stations. Walks are well marked with average times also shown. Saas-Fee is an ideal base for some of the most beautiful tours of the region’s 4,000m peaks and there are many gentler walks to mountain restaurants ready to welcome you with a cool drink and authentic alpine fare. Hotel guests benefit from the FREE Saas-Fee Citizens' Pass during the summer months, allowing you to explore the nearby mountains.
